April 14, 2011: "Dago" passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011. "Dago" spent more than 10 years with the Kansas Department of Corrections, Hutchinson Correctional Facility. "Dago" was born in July of 1998 and was handled by Darrin Pickering from 2000 to 2002. Dago was handled by Tom Canfield 2003 through 2010. "Dago" will be missed throughout the State of Kansas.
February 10, 2011: "Basco" passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011. "Basco" spent more than 8 years with the Augusta Department of Public Safety as the agencies first dual purpose K9. "Basco" was between 11 and 12 years old and apparently died of natural causes. His handler, Sgt. Chad McCluskey, was with "Basco."
